Life is Voyage

Big Move

Toronto

On December 12, 2020, we finally boarded our flight to Toronto. After a long 15-hour journey, we went through a strict immigration process, as COVID-19 protocols were being tightly enforced. From there, we were transported to a quarantine facility for 15 days and 14 nights.

The hotel was about an hour and a half away from Toronto Pearson Airport, located near Niagara Falls—but we couldn’t see the falls at all. In fact, the reason we ended up at a hotel in Niagara was that a friend had advised us to stay outside the city since Toronto was essentially shut down due to the pandemic. All we could see from our window was the freezing winter and a bleak construction site.

We had requested two connecting rooms in advance, and the setup included six beds. For meals, we were served hamburgers and French fries so often that we quickly grew tired of them.
