In December 2019, we took a trip to Toronto, where my uncle and cousins live, as part of our plan to immigrate to Canada.
The Canada Education Fair at COEX, which was held frequently, became a major turning point for us. At the time, we were exhausted—raising two kids, juggling low-paying jobs, and barely having any time for ourselves.
To us, Canada represented a fast track to new dreams and possibilities.
Although Toronto’s high rent and big-city atmosphere felt overwhelming, we began exploring nearby suburban areas. We visited London, a city three hours away that was heavily promoted at the fair, and Barrie, located an hour to the north.
Ultimately, we chose George Brown College in Toronto for its convenient public transit access and stronger job opportunities.
